MOSCOW/SEOUL, Dec 6, 2021, Pan Pacific Agency. Russian capital city “has all the qualifications necessary to host Expo 2030”, Rae Kwon Chung, the board director at the Ban Ki-Moon Foundation, said answering a Pan Pacific Agency’s question during a briefing on the upcoming “Novel Vision. Open Innovations 2.0 Forum”. The final decision “isn’t easy to predict”, cause it depends on “what kind of visionary advantage Moscow will have over those with whom it competes for the Expo, and how well the city will be able to present these benefits,” Mr. Chung said.

Russia has participated in World’s fair since 1851, but it has never hosted Expo itself. Russia proposes to hold the World Expo in Moscow from April 27 to October 27, 2030 under key theme “Progress of Humanity: A Common Vision of the World of Harmony”. Other strong contenders for the event are Rome, Riyadh, Odessa and Busan.
