Little chance for Lavrov-Pompeo meeting at ASEAN forum in Thailand: Russian diplomat

VIENNA, Jul 29, 2019, TASS. It is highly improbable that Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will meet with US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo on the sidelines of an ASEAN ministerial meeting in Bangkok, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said on Sunday, reported the TASS.

“Chances are slim, since the two top diplomats’ schedules are not coordinated and there is too little time ahead of the event,” he said.

During his visit to Bangkok on July 30-31, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is expected to have talks with his Thai counterpart, Don Pramudwinai, and other top diplomats from ASEAN nations.
