Anniversary economic forum kicked off in St. Petersburg

ST. PETERSBURG, Jun 15, 2022, Pan Pacific Agency. The long-awaited anniversary 25th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) kicked off despite many coronavirus and logistical restrictions today. The main intrigue is the Russian leader Vladimir Putin’s speech. According to the sources, this speech will describe a new world order, and it’ll be a key event of the event on June 17.​
The main guest country this year is Egypt. In total, more than 13 thousand participants from different countries arrived in St. Petersburg, according to the city’s governor Alexander Beglov. Most of the visitors are international experts. ​
A varied program awaits all participants: from discussing new economic challenges to educational and sports areas. As part of the exhibition exposition of the SPIEF, projects demonstrating the potential of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation will be presented.​
In connection with changes on the international track, many questions arise in the implementation of programs in the Arctic. This direction will be widely discussed by both the scientific community and business. The introduction of digital technologies in the Arctic, the current situation with the projects of Russian companies in the region, the using of the telemedicine and unmanned vehicles will be discussed by the participants of the Conference on the development of telecommunications and digitalization in the Arctic.
Many people came to SPIEF for the Russia’s economic prospects’ understanding. The hard international environment is forcing businesses to look for new ways to overcome challenges. Russia’s leading economists and senior officials including Central Bank governor Elvira Nabiullina, finance minister Anton Siluanov, economic development minister Maxim Reshetnikov and presidential aide Maxim Oreshkin will set the tone for the entire event. Among the topics of discussion are financial stability, job retention, assistance to socially vulnerable citizens and variable measures to support the economy.
