Almost 300,000 Muscowites contracted coronavirus while official confirmed cases are near 92,000: Mayor

MOSCOW, May 7, 2020, Pan Pacific Agency. About 300,000 people actually became infected with the coronavirus in Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin, the city’s Mayor, said in an interview with “Russia 1” TV Channel. Officially confirmed coronavirus infections in Moscow cross 92,000 cases today, according to the Russian coronavirus crisis response centre message.

According to the Mr. Sobyanin, “there are even more really coronavirus-hited people in the city then cases confirmed”. Screening studies shows that around 2–2.5 per cent of the Moscow’s total population, or nearly 300,000 people, is infected, he said. “Our task is to identify these people as much as possible,” Mr. Sobyanin added.
