Russian cartoon tops YouTube charts hitting Guinness World Records

MOSCOW, Jan 19, 2019, TASS. An episode of the Russian animated series Masha and the Bear, entitled Recipe For Disaster, has become the most viewed animated video on YouTube and made its way into Guinness World Records, the Animaccord company confirmed to TASS on Friday, reported the TASS News Agency.

“The episode made it to Guinness World Records as the most viewed animated video on YouTube. It already has more than 3.3 bln views and has proved to be the only animated video in the world to enter the Top-5 most viewed videos in the history of YouTube,” the company said.

January 2019 marks ten years since the release of the series’ first episode. According to the company, a new episode entitled All The World’s A Stage is set for premiere on January 25.

Masha and the Bear

Masha and the Bear is the most-watched animated series in the world. In March 2017, one of the show’s episodes garnered two billion views on YouTube, entering the top-five of the most-viewed YouTube videos ever.

The English-language Masha and the Bear YouTube channel has more than four million subscribers, while the Russian-language channel boasts about 18 mln subscribers.
