MANILA, Jul 26, 2021, The Manila Times. A group of protesters calling for the extension of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority was barred from getting anywhere near the Senate building in Pasay City on Monday, The Manila Times reported.

Col. Richelle Mamuri, of the Pasay City Police, in a phone interview, confirmed this to The Manila Times.

Mamuri said the security efforts of the local police to man the vicinity around the Senate was in line with the directive of Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar, chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), to maintain peace and order for the last State of the Nation Address of President Rodrigo Duterte.
