BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Feb 17, 2021, Borneo Bulletin/ANN. A crocodile measuring 2.5 metres was captured in a pond at the Panaga Club in Seria, last Sunday (fEB 14), said the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD), The Star reported.

Five personnel led by ASO Mohd Zulkifli bin Mohd Tahir were immediately dispatched to the scene, after receiving an alert at 2.07pm.

The team used a snare catcher to capture the reptile, before securing it with rope.

The crocodile was handed over to the Wildlife Division of the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT), for further action.

The FRD is advising members of the public to keep their house surroundings clean, as crocodiles, snakes and monitor lizards are attracted to tall grass and rodents.

Homeowners are also advised to keep their doors and windows closed, to prevent wild animals from entering.
