Peru President inspects rain affected province of Pomabamba

POMABAMBA, Feb 10, 2019, ANDINA. Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra visited Pomabamba province in Ancash region to bring humanitarian aid and assess the damage caused by heavy rains, river floods, and landslides, reported the ANDINA.

In this sense, the Head of State spoke with regional authorities to get to know the needs that have emerged in the last few days.

According to the top official, floods have caused the death of one person and damaged numerous houses, bridges, and roads, among other things.

Therefore, he announced the Government will declare a state of emergency in the affected area (Pomabamba province).

The Commander-in-chief affirmed necessary arrangements are being made to formalize said measure today.
