Japan is an economy of 127 million people and one of the 12 founding members of APEC. In 1989, Japan’s real GDP was USD 4.4 trillion, and its real per capita GDP was USD 36,000. By 2016, its real GDP grew to USD 6 trillion, while its per capita GDP to USD 48,000. It is the world’s third largest economy.
