Indonesia is one of the 12 founding members of APEC. It is an economy with a population of 261 million people. When it co-founded APEC in 1989, Indonesia’s real GDP was USD 288 billion, and its real per capita GDP was USD 1,600. By 2016, its real GDP more than tripled at USD 1 trillion, while its per capita GDP more than doubled at USD 4,000.
