Open Innovations Forum 2020

On October 19-21, 2020, the 9th International Forum for Innovation Development ‘Open Innovations’ — the main event in the country in the field of technology entrepreneurship, — will be held in the Skolkovo Technopark.

Topic of the Forum in 2020 — “New Digital Normal. Are we ready for the changed world?” Participants of the Forum will discuss the impact of social and economic isolation during the pandemics on the development of technologies in the post-COVID world, as well as emergence of new scenarios and platforms for interaction of business, governments, and society on a global scale.

Topics of all Forum days — Humancentric Society (Oct 19), Survival Economy (Oct 20) and Futuristic Technology (Oct 21), are related to all modern trends and challenges the humanity is facing today.

“On the first day, we will discuss how the environment for interaction and human life style have changed thanks to technologies, which skills a person gains in the process of switching to digital space. The second day will be dedicated to the response to drastic closing of economic relations in the beginning of the pandemics, ways of adjusting to the new rules of doing business, strong and weak sides of various models of managing the economy. On the third day, we will get a sense of how the technology priorities and trends changed over this year, which technology will help to adjust to the new reality”, says Ekaterina Inozemtseva, CEO of Skolkovo Forum.

The Open Innovations are usually attended by leading experts and businesspersons, investors and technology entrepreneurs, scientists and students, government officials and representatives of global corporations. The key speakers include Michael Kremer, winner of the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economics 2019, Olaf Koch, CEO of Metro AG, Philippe Rogge, President of Microsoft Central and Eastern Europe, Jeroen Tas, Chief Innovation and Strategy Officer at Royal Philips, Ilya Alekseev, General Manager, Russia and CIS, Spotify, and others.

Due to continuing restrictions, in 2020 the Forum will be held in an unusual format, which will combine traditional and digital event holding technologies. Foreign speakers will join the discussions at Skolkovo venues via video conference. The broadcast from every hall will be ensured not only on the Forum’s website, but on the partners’ websites.

The Startup Expo within the Open Innovations will present the high-tech ideas and developments created by startups with the support of the Russian development institutes. Just like the business program, the exposition will work offline and online simultaneously. Co-organizers and major partners of the Forum will show their achievements in the Skolkovo Technopark. Themed tours and opportunity to communicate with the exhibitors in any convenient way will be organized for the online exhibition visitors.

Skolkovo Forum Autonomous Non-Commercial Organization is a subsidiary of the Skolkovo Foundation specializing in organizing and holding of technology related events. The Skolkovo Forum’s portfolio includes creating program for, organizing, and holding of such events as the Open Innovations Start-Up Tour (an all-Russian project to search for promising technology projects), the annual Open Innovations Forum, which is a unique discussion platform for participants of the innovative eco-system, and Startup Village — the largest start-up conference in Russia and the CIS for technology entrepreneurs.

The Open Innovations Forum, held annually in Moscow since 2012 under the aegis of the Government of the Russian Federation, is the largest in Russia and the world’s major congress and exhibition event demonstrating primary trends and key achievements in innovative areas of the economy.
