Malaysia’s king to go on 4-day visit to Indonesia tomorrow

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 25, 2019, FMT. The Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah will make a state visit to Indonesia from tomorrow until Thursday, reported the Free Malaysia Today.

The foreign affairs ministry said in a statement today the king will be accompanied by the Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Iskandariah.

The programme includes a welcoming ceremony, an audience and a banquet hosted by President Joko Widodo at the Bogor Presidential Palace.

The Agong and Raja Permaisuri Agong will also attend a dinner with the Malaysian diaspora in Indonesia and visit Istiqlal Mosque in Jakarta, the statement said.

The delegation will include Economic Affairs Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali and senior officials from the foreign affairs ministry, Istana Negara and the Prime Minister’s Department.

The royal couple will also visit Yogyakarta and meet with the sultan and governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X, and tour several historical sites in the city.

The visit symbolises the warm and close bilateral relations between Malaysia and Indonesia and will further cement the bond of friendship established 62 years ago, the statement added.
