‘Shootout’ at Sihanoukville casino involving foreign national

PHNOM PENH, Jul 3, 2021, Khmer Times. A confrontation in a Sihanoukville casino last night led to a ‘shootout’ between a foreign national and security personnel, Khmer Times reported.

The incident occurred at at 9:30 pm on the 2nd of July at Toeng Sing Casino in Village 2, Sangkat 2, Sihanoukville, Preah Sihanouk Province – close to the Sangkat 2 administrative post.

According to Sihanoukville City Inspector Tey Visal, the incident happened when a Chinese man entered and left the casino without permission and without a valid card.

Security guards then restrained him.

The Chinese man then fired two or three shots at the entrance of the casino. He then absconded from the scene via a waiting car.

Sihanoukville police are currently searching for the gunman.
