PETALING JAYA, Apr 17, 2019, FMT. Bahrain has voiced interest in developing the global halal industry with Malaysia, says Entrepreneur Development Minister Redzuan Yusof, reported the Free Malaysia Today.

Speaking to FMT, Redzuan said Bahrain’s Prime Minister Prince Khalifa Salman Al Khalifa had relayed this interest in a recent meeting in the country.

Redzuan, who recently attended the Global Entrepreneurship Congress 2019 in Bahrain, paid Prince Khalifa a courtesy call at his office in the country’s capital of Manama.

“Manama wishes to work with Putrajaya to develop the global halal industry,” he said, adding that Bahrain also wants to market its halal products in Malaysia.

“At the same time, they want to explore investment opportunities in Malaysia.”

Redzuan said Prince Khalifa had also voiced his intention for Bahrain to continue being a hub for the sale of Malaysian cars to Gulf countries through business-to-business platforms.

“Bahrain also wants Gulf Air to operate direct flights from KLIA to Bahrain and work with Malaysia Airlines to fly to Gulf Air destinations.”

Redzuan had spoken on entrepreneurial development in Malaysia at the congress, which was attended by some 1,000 delegates including ministers, entrepreneurs and officials from over 100 countries.
