Malaysia’s King, Queen under 14-day quarantine as Istana staff infected

KUALA LUMPUR, Mar 26, 2020, FMT. Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdulah Sultan Ahmad Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah will undergo a 14-day quarantine after several palace employees were infected with Covid-19, Free Malaysia Today reported.

Comptroller of the Royal Household, Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin, said the royal couple themselves tested negative for the virus.

He added that seven Istana Negara staff were now stable and being treated at Hospital Kuala Lumpur.

He also said those who had had close contact with them have been ordered to undergo screening for Covid-19.
