Chinese DiDi Chuxing launches taxi service in Russia

KAZAN, Aug 26, 2020, TASS. The service for ordering a taxi of the international company DiDi Chuxing (China) has started working in Russia. The first city where he appeared was Kazan, the press service of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency told TASS on Tuesday (Aug 25).

“By the day of the Republic of Tatarstan, the international company DiDi Chuxing is launching its service for ordering a taxi in Kazan. In this regard, from today, orange cars of the DiDi service will start operating on the roads of Kazan,” the agency’s interlocutor said.

Earlier, the DiDi car sharing and taxi platform, which provides services to more than 550 million users around the world, began to cooperate with taxi companies and connect drivers to the service in Kazan. The Driver Connection Center opened on 27 July. The working group to study the areas of cooperation was created following the meeting in June of the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov with the leadership of the international company DiDi Chuxing.

DiDi Chuxing is the largest road transport service in China, founded in 2012, which bought the local branch of the American Uber and almost completely controls this market in the PRC.
