Moscow’s lockdown to extend till May 31, all previous restrictions are valid, new measures to force on May 12

MOSCOW, May 7, 2020, Pan Pacific Agency. Lockdown measures including movement restrictions to extend until May 31 in Moscow, according to the city’s Mayor decree published on his official blog today. All public events are still prohibited until May 31. Restaurants, cafes, beauty salons, fitness centers and malls, parks are closed.

Additional restrictions also adopted. Since May 12, masks and gloves are mandatory while using public transport and shopping, violators face a fines.

Nonetheless, construction and manufacturing industries in Moscow may reopen from May 12. At the same time, enterprises will be obliged to test employees for coronavirus, Vladimir Efimov, the vice mayor of the Russian capital, announced. According to him, about 200,000 Muscovites will be able to return to work next Tuesday.
