900 thousand Indian troops to terrorise 8M Kashmiris: Pakistani PM

ISLAMABAD, Oct 19, 2019, INP. Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has on Friday said that Narendra Modi is using 900 thousand troops to terrorize eight million people in occupied Kashmir. The premier took to Twitter and wrote, “75 days and occupation government of Modi continues the siege in IOJK. Modi is riding a tiger – he thought he could get his agenda of annexation by using 900k forces to silence Kashmiris. You don’t need 900k troops to fight terrorism; you need them to terrorise 8 million Kashmiri people,” reported the Independent News Pakistan.

The Prime Minister said as the world watches the worst violation of human rights in Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Modi is now fearful because he knows the moment the siege is lifted there will be a bloodbath, which would be the only way to subdue the Kashmiri people.

Prime Minister Imran Khan also wore black arm band titled ‘I am Kashmir’ to express solidarity with Kashmiri brethren of Occupied Kashmir.

He tied the band on his right arm as a gesture of solidarity with eight million Kashmiris, who were being denied basic human rights including access to food, medical and communication facilities.

On the prime minister’s directive, the government officials and people from different walks of life, wore the similar black armbands to highlight the continued Indian atrocities in IOJK.

The prime minister in a tweet said Indian premier Narendra Modi was riding a tiger, thus finding no way to get off, as he continued siege of Kashmiris with 900 thousand troops.

Quoting a proverb he who rides a tiger, is afraid to dismount, the prime minister in a tweet on the 75th consecutive day of lockdown of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, said Modi was fearful of a bloodbath after lifting of curfew.

“As the world watches the worst violation of human rights in IOJK, Modi is now fearful, because he knows the moment the siege is lifted, there will be a bloodbath – which would be the only way to subdue the Kashmiri people,” said the prime minister.

Imran Khan said “Modi thought he could get his agenda of annexation by using 900k forces to silence Kashmiris”, however, such a heavy deployment in IOJK, was meant to terrorize Kashmiris.

“You don’t need 900k troops to fight terrorism; you need them to terrorize eight million Kashmiri people,” he said.

As per instructions of the prime minister, sirens were blared across the country at 3 pm where people assembled at their places and read the country s national anthem as a symbol of unity for the Kashmir cause.

Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood led a gathering at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, joined by the officials and staff.

National anthem was also played on the occasion.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan ha stated that occupation government of Modi continues the siege of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir for seventy five days.

In a tweet on Friday, he said Modi thought he could get his agenda of annexation by using nine hundred thousand forces to silence Kashmiris.

You do not need nine hundred thousand troops to fight terrorism; you need them to terrorize eight million Kashmiri people.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday has met religious clerics in Islamabad and urged them to play their role regarding Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl’s (JUI-F) Azadi March.

During the meeting with ulemas, the PM deliberated upon the anti-government protest that will be held on October 31. A discussion on the suggestions regarding reforms in seminaries was also carried out.

On the occasion, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Firdous Ashiq Awan, Pervez Khattak, Naeem-ul-Haque and others were also present.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan has asked the provincial governments to devise an effective plan against inflation.

According to details, the premier has decided to take emergency measures to overcome inflation and will chair a high-level inter-provincial meeting today in this regard.

It has been learnt that PM Imran Khan is not satisfied with the performance of the provincial governments in controlling the prices. The chief ministers of all provinces have been summoned in the session during which other provincial decisions will also be taken.

The decision to hold consultations with the chief ministers had been taken by the federal cabinet.
Meanwhile, Minister of State for Narcotics Control Shehryar Khan Afridi called on Prime Minister Imran Khan at his office in Islamabad.

According to the details, Shehryar Khan Afridi presented the performance report of Anti-Narcotics Force and said that the force achieved unprecedented successes on all accounts. He apprised the prime minister about the quantity of drug seizures, arrest of drug peddlers and record conviction rate.

Speaking on the occasion, Shehryar Afridi briefed PM Imran about fresh initiatives taken by the ANF to make Pakistan a drug-free state. He also apprised the prime minister about his engagements in Geneva.

DG ANF Major General Muhammad Arif Malik was also present in the meeting.

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan will pay a visit to Karachi on October 21 (Monday) where he will hold meetings with high-ups besides inaugurating a power project, citing sources.

Sources said that the premier will hold separate meetings with Sindh Governor Imran Ismail, federal ministers and other prominent personalities during his upcoming visit to the metropolis.

A session will be summoned by PM Khan to make consultations over the issues of the port city.
PM Khan will also inaugurate China power project, sources added.

Earlier on October 13, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail had hinted an upcoming visit of PM Imran Khan to Karachi where he will meet the leadership of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) after returning to Pakistan from the foreign visits.

In his statement, the governor said the federal government respects the public mandate of the MQM-P. He added that the ruling political party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is willing to continue its journey along with the ally party.

He continued that the leadership of both political parties adopted respectful behaviour with each other.

Following the directives of the premier, the Sindh governor contacted the MQM-P senior leader and Federal Minister for Information Technology Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui. He gave PM’s message to Siddiqui during the conversation.
