China proposes Kyrgyzstan to extend debt payment for 4 years under 2 per cent interest: PM

BISHKEK, Nov 25, 2020, AKIPress. MP Ainuru Altybayeva asked about the conditions China agrees to extend debt payments on November 25 at a meeting of Parliament, AKIPress reported.

Acting Prime Minister Artem Novikov said that consultations are underway.

He said China was proposed to extend debt payment for 4 years, the interest rate of 2% is offered by China. Overpayment will amount to 2.9 billion soms, he said.

The MP noted that this is a very big sum.

Novikov replied that China accounts for the bulk of public debt of Kyrgyzstan.
