Chuncheon to introduce S. Korea’s first wheelchair canoe

CHUNCHEON, Nov 10, 2020, Korea Bizwire. South Korea’s first wheelchair canoe is now available in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, Korea Bizwire reported.

The city and the Korea Tourism Organization will hold an opening ceremony on Wednesday for the King Canoe rental service in Uiam Lake accessible by wheelchair users.

King Canoe, unlike other smaller canoes for two people, can accommodate up to 12 people at a time.

Wheelchair canoes come in two models, with wheelchair-only canoes as well as those for both disabled and able-bodied riders.

Wheelchair-only canoes, extending as long as 8 meters, can accommodate up to four wheelchairs.

Mixed canoes for both disabled and able-bodies riders can accommodate up to 12 passengers per ride.
