Russian captain who crashed into 3 yachts and Gwangan Bridge handed over to prosecutors

SEOUL, Mar 10, 2019, Hankyoreh. The captain of a Russian cargo ship who crashed into docked yachts and Gwangan Bridge in Busan’s harbor while under the influence has been handed over to South Korean prosecutors. The Busan branch of the Korea Coast Guard reported on Mar. 8 that the captain, simply identified as “S,” has been arrested and transferred to prosecutors, reported the Hankyoreh.

S crashed into three docked yachts in Busan’s Yongho Bay Cruise Terminal and the city’s Gwangan Bridge on Feb. 28, damaging the bridge and injuring 3 people. He was found to have a blood-alcohol level of 0.086%, well over the legal limit of 0.05%.
