Lee Dong-min (Yonhap)

SEOUL, Jan 30, 2019, Yonhap. South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency said Wednesday that it has named its veteran journalist Lee Dong-min as the next secretary general of the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA), reported the Yonhap.

Lee worked as a Yonhap correspondent in Washington and served as the head of the English-language general and economic news desks and foreign-language news department.

Lee will fine-tune opinions among OANA member agencies and coordinate OANA general and executive meetings.

At present, OANA has 44 member news agencies in 35 Asia-Pacific nations, including Xinhua of China, Kyodo of Japan, Tass of Russia, VNA of Vietnam, Bernama of Malaysia and KCNA of North Korea.
