JAKARTA, Aug 23, 2020, Jakarta Globe. A massive blaze ravaged the main building of the Attorney General’s Office on Saturday night and it took almost 12 hours for firefighters to completely put out the fire, Jakarta Globe reported.

The Jakarta Fire Department deployed around 50 fire trucks and 200 personnel to battle the flames, which ripped through the right wing of the seven-story building. They soon realized that their priority was to prevent the fast-moving flames from reaching the other part of the building.

Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin said on Saturday no one was injured in the incident and no documents on legal cases being handled by prosecutors were destroyed. The blaze destroyed offices of the human resources department, finance department, and general affairs department, he said.

The Jakarta Police said on Sunday a thorough investigation is underway to determine the cause of the incident and access to the area is temporarily closed.
