Indonesia’s infrastructure development budget in 2022 will be near Rp385 trillion

JAKARTA, Aug 20, 2021, ANTARA. Indonesian President Joko Widodo revealed that the infrastructure development budget in the 2022 State Revenue and Expenditure Budget Draft (RAPBN) reached Rp384.8 trillion, ANTARA reported.

“The infrastructure development budget is Rp384.8 trillion,” President Widodo stated during a speech to deliver the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget Bill (APBN) for the Fiscal Year 2022 and Financial Notes at the Plenary Meeting of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI) for the 2021-2022 Session Year at the parliamentary complex here on Monday.

The president noted that infrastructure development was directed at supporting basic services and increasing productivity through connectivity and mobility infrastructure as well as providing affordable, reliable, and environment-friendly energy and food infrastructure in addition to supporting infrastructure equity and access to information and communication technology (ICT).

“To support the infrastructure development target, the strategy of combining the budget with blended finance will continue to be implemented,” he noted.

The Government Cooperation with Business Entities (PPP) Scheme is a financing model that will continue to be offered. The president affirmed that blended finance among ministries or agencies, State-owned Enterprises (SOEs), and the private sector will continue to be strengthened.

President Widodo arrived at the parliamentary complex here on Monday at around 8:05 a.m. local time.

The president wore black Baduy traditional clothing along with a blue Baduy headband. He also carried a light brown traditional Baduy bag.
