JAKARTA, May 26, 2020, ANTARA. Operator of the Pulo Gebang Integrated Bus Terminal in East Jakarta will quarantine or return to the origin cities those entering the capital city without the Jakarta Exit and Entry Permit (SIKM), ANTARA reported.

“Without the Jakarta Exit and Entry Permit (SIKM), they will be returned to their cities of origin or quarantined at a location determined by the (COVID-19) task force,” head of the Pulo Gebang integrated terminal Bernard Pasaribu stated here on Tuesday.

Pasaribu explained that people, who will enter or exit the capital city, are required to apply for SIKM in accordance with Governor Regulation No. 47 of 2020 on restriction on exit from and entry to Jakarta to stem the spread of COVID-19.

A joint team of the Indonesian Military (TNI), police, Transportation Office, and the municipal police (Satpol PP) will check all passengers of buses that pass the check posts.

“Security personnel have guarded the entry points. Those, who managed to pass the check posts and reach the bus terminal, will be returned to their cities of origin if they are unable to present the SKIM,” he stated.

At least 193 people arrived at the Pulo Gebang bus terminal on May 9-24 when it resumed operations after being closed owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.

No further details were available on the number of passengers denied entry to Jakarta through the Pulo Gebang Terminal.
