IndiGo flight from Coimbatore makes emergency landing in Chennai after smoke alarm goes off

CHENNAI, Nov 20, 2019, PTI. An IndiGo flight made an emergency landing at the Chennai airport Wednesday after a smoke alarm went off on board the plane. The IndiGo flight was flying from Coimbatore and made its emergency landing after a smoke alarm went off in the cargo hold of the aircraft, India Today reported.

News agency PTI, quoting unnamed authorities, reported that all passengers and crew were safe.

The IndiGo flight, a Coimbatore-Chennai service, was carrying 168 passengers. The pilot of the flight requested priority landing after detecting a smoke alarm in the cargo area of the plane.
