PM Modi meets union minister Shah, Sitharaman over lockdown exit

NEW DELHI, May 1, 2020, Hindustan Times. India is taking full preparations to lift its lockdown as Centre has designated districts in three categories. With 1,993 cases recorded over 24-hours, India’s tally of cases has touched 35,043 mark with 1,147 deaths. More than 3.3 million people continue to be infected by Covid-19. The death toll across the globe has now reached 2.3 million people, Hindustan Times reported.

A Bloomberg report predicted that the pandemic way extend well beyond 2022 as economies across the world struggle to mitigate losses. WHO hopes that China will join investigations to search origins of Covid-19.

Lockdown exit strategy on the table as PM meets home minister and finance minister.
