US vice president-elect Kamala Harris will be president in 2024: Her uncle

WASHINGTON D.C., Nov 8, 2020, DNA. US Vice President-elect Kamala Harris’ uncle G Balachandran has said that 2024 US elections can see her becoming the President, DNA India reported.

Speaking to WION, the former consultant at the Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (MP-IDSA) said, “We had a black President, now we got a black Afro-American Vice President and hopefully in 2024 we will have an Afro-American woman President, that is Kamala.”

Asked about his reaction to US elections results coming, he said, “I am relieved…my tension is gone”.

Kamala Harris is half Indian and Jamaican and her mother Shyamala Gopalan had gone to the US in the 1960s from India’s Tamil Nadu. As a child Kamala had visited Chennai, then Madras many times and she had remained in touch with her maternal side.

Asked about Kamala becoming the VP and India connect, Balachandran explained, “It’s more significant to American Indians…but doesn’t make much difference to Indians in India”.

Kamala Harris will be the first Woman elected Vice President of the United States.
