Peru to promote potato, sacha inchi, maca, cacao, Andean grains in China

LIMA, Aug 31, 2019, ANDINA. The International Potato Center (CIP) and Peru’s Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru) will promote Superfoods at the “CIP and Peru Honor Day” event of the Expo 2019 Beijing set to take place on September 1, within the framework of the International Horticultural Exhibition 2019, reported the ANDINA.

Thus, products such as potatoes, sacha inchi, maca, cacao, chestnuts, and Andean grains will be promoted at the international event.

Likewise, a proposal —based on culture, gastronomy, and history— has been developed.

On the other hand, within the framework of Superfoods Peru promotion plan in Asia, the Inca nation will be present —as a guest country— at 2019 Asia Fruit Logistica fair —to be held in Hong Kong on September 4-6— as well as at China International Import Expo Exhibition —to take place in Shanghai on November 5-10.

CIP was invited to attend the International Pavilion of the International Horticultural Exhibition Beijing 2019 in order to put Peruvian potatoes on display.

This event is the largest horticultural exhibition in the world, in which CIP has been participating since April, promoting the consumption of potatoes and sweet potatoes.
